ASUU Meeting With Federal Government Deadlocked As Union Continues With Strike

The National President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Professor Biodun Ogunyemi after the meeting of ASUU with Federal Government officials and Ministry of labour Today,said “the strike continues,the union has not suspended the strike”.

Professor Ogunyemi said “there are still grey areas to be resolved”.

He added that discussion will continue on a later date,that the union will go back to consult with its members

 


The ASUU president maintained that the strike will only be suspended when
the presidency addresses the issue of revitalization.

He revealed that revitalization is central to academic work and unless that
area is addressed our members will still have issues.

Professor Ogunyemi said “We are not demanding for 50 Billion naira,We
are saying that the minimum presidency can release to re-activate
revitalization fund is 50 Billion naira
