The Nigeria Army has dismissed insinuation that the International Criminal Court, ICC indicted the organization of war crimes as published by one National daily Newspaper.

In a statement signed by the spokesperson of Nigeria Army, Sani Kukasheka Usman which was made available to the public, stated that nowhere in the 78 pages report released by the Office of the prosecutor of ICC which was dated 5th December,2018 indicted the Nigeria Army of any crime let alone war crimes

The statement noted that Nigeria Army has been consistent in cooperating with Federal Ministry of Justice,National Human Rights Commission and other Human Rights  investigative bodies established by the Presidency  to review its Human Rights foot prints specifically in areas of operations including but not limited to North East region of Nigeria

The statement read that the Nigeria Army is dismayed by the recklessness displayed by the Newspaper on publishing such sensationally false story and giving its undue prominence

The statement added that Journalists and Editors should consider the implication of such type of publications on national security
