NSCDC Commence Investigation Into Alleged Killing Of University Student By Its Personnel In Bayelsa State
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) in Bayelsa state says it has commenced investigation into the reports of shooting of a 100 level student of Niger Delta University (NDU) by one of its official.
An NSCDC official attached to a stalwart of All Progressive Congress (APC) party allegedly shot one Obinna Onyekwu a 100 level student of petrochemical engineering student of NDU yesterday night in Amasoma town in Bayelsa state, Nigeria.
We learnt that it was an accidental discharge and the student was later confirmed dead in the hospital.
When Revelation Agents contacted the spokesperson of Bayelsa state, who is also a Superintendent of Police (SP) Butswat Asinim He directed our reporter to call the spokesperson of NSCDC for comments.
The spokesperson of NSCDC ,Harcourt Johnson in a text message to Revelation Agents said he has learnt of the incident. He added that investigation is ongoing to ascertain the true position of things.
As as press tine We gathered that the NSCDC official is detained by the Amasoma Divisional Police headquarters.
