PHED Calls On Diobu Residents To Be Wary Of Impostors Stealing Transformers On Pretence Of Taking It For Repair

The PortHarcourt Electricity Distribution Company,PHED has called on the general public especially Diobu residents in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Nigeria to be wary of impostors who are removing transformers in the area on pretence of taking it for repairs.

The Manager,Corporate Communication of PHED in South-South,John Onyi made the assertion in an exclusive chat with Revelation Agents Online News Today

He stated that residents should verify the status and identity of any one claiming to be a PHED official on a task to remove transformer for repair or replacement.

He urged the energy costumers to verify from the nearest PHED office in charge of their area or call relevant PHED hotlines

The clarifications follows enquiry by Revelation Agents Online News on activities of persons claiming to be PHED officials removing smaller transformers which was installed in 2014.

Some acclaimed PHED officials were mobbed at Wokomalane street,Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt yesterday afternoon when they came to remove one of the small transformer hung in between two poles for repairs.The residents left the acclaimed officials after so much beating,Revelation Agents gathered.

However,when Revelation Agents contacted the PHED spokesperson, He said “there is no record in PHED office showing its personnel were sent to replace transformer at the above mentioned area yesterday”.

He urged the general public to always verify from PHED using available communication channels when such issues arise
