The Assistant Inspector General(AIG) of Police, zone 16 command Yenagoa, Adebola Hamzat received the Muslim community under the auspices of the Bayelsa State Council for Islamic Affairs which is the umbrella body of all the Muslim in the State.
A statement by Public Relations Officer of Zone 16 Command,SP Gunn Emonena disclosed that the leader of the delegation Alhaji Otobo Yakubu in his welcome address, said the purpose of the visit was for the body to familiarize with the AIG and management team of the Zone while describing the AIG as a detribalized Police Officer.
The AIG in his response quoted from both the Holy Bible and the Holy Quran while admonishing and enlightening the Islamic community to be steadfast in their faith and live peacefully with one another.
In a similar vein,members of the Southern Youth Foundation also paid a courtesy visit to the AIG in his office.
The Youth body, according to a statement by SP Emonena, thanked and commended the AIG for his good works, achievement and further called for collaboration as they canvas for Peace, Gender Sensitivity, campaign against social vices as Law abiding group within the southern Nigeria.
The AIG also appreciated the group as he encouraged positivity.
Highpoint of the visit was presentation of award of Excellence by Southern Youth Foundation to the AIG in recognition for his show of gallantry and meritorious service in the zone.
With the AIG in receiving the two bodies are the Management team which comprises DC ZCID, DCP Felix Nnebue, DC OPs DCP Evans Shem, DC Admin DCP Dayo Ralph, AC CID ACP Martha Okon, AC Zonal Intelligence Department ACP Onah Ogah Rueben, AC OPs ACP Ojiaku Festus, AC X-Squad ACP Emilia Mami and the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer SP GUNN EWHOBORWO EMONENA.
