It is yet another call to duty for Rivers State Commissioner of Police,CP Olatunji Disu, the Tactical CP and his men as emerging reports suggests that another cult ‘general’ may be rising and regrouping in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The gang leader popularly known as ‘general’ Junior is said to be the leader of Greenland cult group in Igbu-Orlukwor kingdom, Ahoada East,LGA.
The ‘general’ reported to be an illegal oil bunkering ‘Don’ is alleged to have links to recent killings in Oshiugbokor and other neighbouring communities in Igbu-Orlukwor kingdom,Ahoada East LGA in recent times.
Though CP Disu and his men had neutralized five cult ‘generals’ such as Silas Odereke(Greenland cult group),Izuma David aka General Solution(Greenland cult group),John Togo aka General Togo(Iceland cult group),Daddy Chukwu (Iceland cult group),David Gift aka General 2Baba (Iceland cult group) within five months of his stay in office,the tactical acumen of the Rivers State Police Command led by CP Disu is put to test again by the activities of the rising ‘general’.
In article published on Vanguard Newspaper on 19th September,2024 a group known as Rvers Coalition for Human Rights, RCHR, called for the immediate deployment of a security crack team to restore normalcy in the Oshiugbokor Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, where residents have become hapless victims of criminals operating in the area.
The group in a petition to the Director General of the Department of State Service, DSS, by the National Coordinator, Derefaka Green, Ndamzhi Amadi, Assistant Secretary and Hannah Nikade,pogramme/Research Officer of the rights group drew the attention to the criminal activities of oil bunkerers, kidnappers and murderers in the community and called for urgent intervention to save the people and the economy of the country.
The group alleged that intimidation, harassment, torture, bunkering, pipeline vandalism, terrorism, kidnapping” spearheaded alleged retired superintendent of Police.
The group further alleged that a retired Chief Superintendent of Police to consolidate illegal activities in the area engaged the services of a notorious cultist and criminal, who has a gang of over 50 boys armed with dangerous weapons such as AK 47 and other assault rifles and operate a camp at Okporowo community, Ahoada East LGA where they carry out various criminal activities, including assassinations, murder, kidnapping and rape etc.
On 18, September,2024 the Eze Igbu Orlukwor, His Royal Highness, Eze Prince Ike Ehie, JP, Eze Ehie II, in a statement by Oyagiri Chime-emele,Head Information and Documentation of the palace, tasked security agencies to put more efforts on providing answers about his two missing subjects.
The monarch said the allegedly missing persons, Chief Elysian John, the paramount ruler (Eze Nwe Ula) of Oshiugbokor community and Comrade Saviour Ajiekwera, a family youth president and his Personal Assistant (PA) were seen last on Sunday, September 7, 2024, by their respective families.
He said his PA, who had a critical assignment to deliver on Monday, is yet to also report for duty, jeopardizing the timely delivery of the assignment apportioned to him and has not been since till today.
Eze Ehie appealed to the agencies saddled with the responsibilities of unraveling sensitive situations like this to leave no stone unturned, in other to get to recover the missing persons alive or dead.
He described the alleged continuous withholding of his PA and the community paramount ruler by unknown person(s) as dastard, heinous, wicked and satanic.
The royal father thanked the Nigeria Police on her holding the alleged convener of the ill fated meetings, Hon. Emeka Gorden, on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, September 7, 2024 and enjoined her make use of extracted information from him.
He urged the public to give helping hands, through the sharing of vital information with the security agencies or his palace for a quick arrest and prosecution of anyone found culpable in criminally holding these persons.
Security analysts opined that the ability of CP Disu led Rivers State Police Command to curtail and contain the dangers posed by the activities of the rising ‘general’ is not in doubt .
They however,argued that the dangers the activities of the ‘general’ portends, need prompt attention and action by the Police and other security agencies.
