Pastor Believe Ikpante

The Proprietor of Peculiar Stars Montessori International School, Pastor Believe Ikpante has described games as being part of the academic curricular of schools, adding that it provides well being of the students.

Pastor Ikpante made the assertion in his welcome address during the school’s maiden Inter – House Sports today at Umulu Community in Igbo Etche, Etche Local Government Area, Rivers State. According to him, “Games as an essential part of the school curricular activities provides for the physical well being of the students. For this reason, the Federal and State Ministries of Education, in line with the National Policy on Education ensures that Sports activities are organized not only within the school but inter school also”.

He further hinted that the sporting activities is organized to get little profit of the bodily exercise to add to others so that quality results will be achieved, adding that the event will henceforth be observed annually.

The School Director charged the students and pupils to continue to see their academic work as priority, even as they have put much in practice to make the event memorable and worthwhile. He thanked parents and guidance that has contributed immeasurably especially, Her Royal Majesty Dame Lolo Amaechi Sam (wife of the Paramount Ruler of Igbo Kingdom), Mr. Stanley Adaa (PTA Chairman), De Umah’s Hotel & Resort and Hon.Taribo.

In her contributions, another Proprietress Mrs. Fabson Ruth Amarachi of Royal Grace Academy enjoined parents to take the training of their children as a priority, adding that no knowledge acquired is a waste.

She admonished the students and pupils to be up and doing in their academic work as they seem to have done prior to the event, as according to her, “Excellence in academic will add more values in once life in today’s world”.

Fabson acknowledged the excellent coordination witnessed in the event, adding that though some finesse was lacking in the finishing especially in the tracks preparations. She urged other sister schools to take a cue from Peculiar Stars Montessori International School.

Triumphant House (Yellow) clinched the first position with a score of 268 points, while Victorious House (Green) came second with 258 points and Overcomes House ( Red) was placed third with 252 points.

Some persons also won medals on the individual categories and invited schools were not left out in the rain of medals. Schools invited were; Royal Grace Academy, Happy Child Academy, Destiny Educational Centre, etc
