The Nigerian Police says it has commenced investigation into the public outcry on twitter concerning the alleged unfortunate incident of extortion by men of “Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS) along the Benin express road in Edo state.

The Nigerian Police made the disclosure in its verified twitter handle today 16 December 2019.

The Police advised the victim to drop his number on twitter so that the Force Public Relations Officers can confidentiality investigate the matter.

A man who gave his name as Denise had narrated on twitter how men suspected to be SARS officials forcefully made him to transfer 600,000 naira from his first bank account.

The man revealed that he just returned from Netherland and was traveling from Lagos State to the East through Benin when the incident occurred.

The man’s revelation has stirred up anger on twitter as Nigerians expressed dismay on the incident.

At the meantime, the Police say it will make it’s finding public.
