Presidency Orders Nigerian Soldiers To Vacate Daily Trust Newspaper Office

Garba Shehu the Senior Special Assistant To Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed

That the Federal Government has directed the military to vacate the premises of Daily Trust Newspaper and the order has been complied with. He said “Issues between the military and the newspaper as they affect the coverage of the war in the Northeast will be resolved through dialogue”.
The soldiers arrested the regional editor, Uthman Abubakar, and Ibrahim Sawab, during the raid yesterday at Maduigiri and Abuja offices respectively. The Soldiers also sealed the two offices; widespread condemnation followed the action of Nigerian soldiers.

However as at press time Revelation Agents cannot establish if the Staff of the newspaper who were arrested yesterday have been arrested as the order did not indicate any call for their release
