The Assistant Inspector General of Police supervising election in Rivers State,AIG Kayode Egbetokun has warned trouble makers and anyone with intention of causing problems on Saturday Governorship and House of Assembly elections to steer clear.

AIG Egbetokun in a press briefing in Police headqurters Moscow road in PortHarcourt on Thursday warned that the Police will deal decisively with criminal elements who want to disrupt the election.

He urged law abiding citizens to come out to cast their vote as the Police and other sisters agencies has made adequate deployment to ensure a hitch free election.

“We look forward to a better election.We are committed to ensure peaceful conduct of the elections.We will enforce all laws and sections of the criminal code in this election.We are deploying massively for the election.

“We warn all persons who are criminally minded who want to disrupt the election to have change of mind. We will provide level playing ground for all candidates.

” The restrictions order from 12am to 6pm on Saturday on movement of vehicles will be strictly enforced.Any person who flout the law will be arrested and prosecuted”.

AIG Egbetokun cautioned on  against fake news,hate speech and other activities inimical to peace before,during and after elections.
