The Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph G. Mukan psc (+) on Sunday December 20th December 2020 led Members of his Management Team on a Condolence visit to the family of late Abiodun Jimoh who was killed by a Police Sergeant serving at the Elelenwo Police Station.
The Police in a statement on Sunday by SP Nnamdi Omoni explained that

Receiving the Delegation at the family House, the Wife of the deceased, Mrs Asisat Abiodun thanked the CP for the visit but however condemned the sad incident and called on Authorities of the Police to investigate and ensure that her late husband is given justice. She equally appealed to the Authorities to come to their aid, noting that her late husband who was their breadwinner left so much responsibilities for them.
3. Earlier in his Condolence message, the CP, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM, mni, commiserated with the family and promised to bring about Justice in the circumstance, while appealing to them to maintain restraint and allow the law to take its course.
4. Recall that a Police Sergeant, without recourse to the Provisions of Force Order 237 killed the deceased and is cooling his heels at the State CID and will be due in court as soon as the processes of the Internal Disciplinary Measures are fully exhausted.

The statement by the Police Spokesperson SP Nnamdi Omoni revealed that
2. The sad incident happened at the Station, where the Sergeant without justification shot the Victim, Abiodun Jimoh who was immediately rushed to the Hospital but later died. His remains have been deposited in the Mortuary.
3. The incident is being investigated and the outcome will be communicated to the public. Meanwhile the Police Sergeant who carried out the dastardly act is in custody for debriefing and psychological evaluation. His Orderly Room Trial will commence in ernest, for possible arraignment.
4. The Command is in touch with the family and has commiserated with them over the unfortunate incident and has assured them that the interest of justice will be served in the circumstance, while appealing for calm and allow the law to take its full course.
