….Recover Pistol,6 Rounds Of Live Ammunition
The Rivers State Police command says it has arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting last Monday between Greenlanders and Icelanders cult group at Amadi Amadi in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, Superintendent of Police (SP) Nnamdi Omoni told Journalists that surveillance unit of Amadi Ama Police station while acting on credible intelligence arrested two suspected cultist on Wednesday at Amadi Ama.
SP Omoni disclosed that one of the suspects Prince Effiong,male has admitted to be member of Iceland cult group while the second suspect is yet to open up.
SP Omoni stated that a barreta pistol and 6 rounds of live ammunition was recovered from the suspects.
Meanwhile the suspect Mr Effiong admitted belonging to Iceland cult group but denied being the owner of the gun.The suspect also denied participating in the shoot out on Monday. The suspect revealed that he boarded tricycle going to Mother Cat and was joined by another passenger who on sighting the Police threw something on the ground and ran away. The suspect stated that the Police picked the object up and it was a gun and himself and the tricycle driver was arrested. Mr. Effiong also stated that the ‘Keke ‘ driver is not a member of his cult group. He admitted that he knows the man who threw the Pistol on the ground and ran away.
Meanwhile the case has been transferred to Anti-Cultism unit of Rivers State Police command for further investigation.
