Family of Sandra and George Ahunaya, mother and grand father respectively of of a fifteen year old girl allegedly molested sexually by her step father,a certain Arch Bishop in Rivers state have raised alarm about the arrest and detention of the mother and grand father of the teenage girl at Nigeria Police Zone 16,Yenagoa Bayelsa State on instigation by the suspect who is an Arch Bishop.
In an interview with Journalists in PortHarcourt, Ikechukwu George brother to the victim’s mother said the person(Arch Bishop) is my inlaw .So we discovered that he has being sexually harassing my niece(his step daugther). On founding out my father(his wife’s father) got him arrested,on arresting him, he left the Police station without bail.
“Few days later, he came with the Police to pick my father and also my sister(his wife) .So since then we have gone with our lawyers to get them released but they have not granted them bail .He has being coming to our house with Policemen to intimidate us not allowing them to use their phone to make calls.He also suggested going to our village to make a case that we stole his property whereas his wife(mother of the girl) held the property so that he the(husband) will come to the Police station(Igwuruta Police Station) to answer the questions of which we came to the Police station.
“This is our case right now.He went to zone 16 Baylesa State, only for us to find out that he reported a case against us to zone 16 in Bayelsa that we took his property.Since then he has been parading my sister and my father to PortHarcourt looking for the property as if they are criminals .He is yet to report back to Police station in PortHarcourt.Even zone 16 refused to grant them bail,He have been intimidating them .We are going ahead with this case despite the intimidation.
The fifteen year old girl(namewitheld) narrated how the alleged sexual assault started .
She said “It started in 2019.I was nine year old then,it was when my mother and him(Arch Bishop) got married.One day He told me,that me and my sister should come and sleep close to him on the bed since our mummy was not around.
“He told me to stay closer to him.Later I started feeling that somebody was touching me,I woke up,I saw him, he said I should not worry that he will buy alot of things for me .
“He started fingering me and sucking my breast as I am getting to puberty age.I told him,I will tell my mum he will tell me that he is going to abandon me and my mother and I are going to suffer.
“As at 2023,I got courage and I told my mum about it .She called him,he said he did such but he is sorry.This year February,he came and wanted to try it again.He told me that I should come and check something in the room,I came he wanted to close the door,I did not accept,I now left”.The Arch Bishop did not respond to several whatzup and textmessages sent to his mobile phone by revelationagents.com.
When contacted the Public Relations Officer of Zone 16,Yenagoa Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP) Ikwo Kelvin Lafieghe told revelationagents.com that the complaints is noted for necessary action.
