The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the release of two South Korean expatriates abducted, on December,12,2023, at location junction Egunughan community Emughan Clan in Abua /Odual Local Government Area of the State.
A statement by the Image Manager of the Police Command on December 30,2023 SP Grace Iringe Koko disclosed that the foreigners were released by their abductors due to the pressure mounted on them by Tactical teams and the military.
SP Koko added that investigation is ongoing.
It would be recalled that gunmen attacked troops of 5 battalion on routine escort duty on the same date,killing four soldiers and abducted the two expatriates.
