The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday has issued stern warning to miscreants and trouble makers who plan to cause chaos and destabilize the state on Saturday June 12,2021 to keep off the state or face the full wrath of the law.
CP Eboka Friday issued the warning during a stakeholder meeting  with leaders of Civil Society Organizations, Youth Organizations,Nigeria Bar Association, Media and opinion leaders in Port Harcourt on Thursday 10th June 2021 .
CP Eboka disclosed that intelligence report at the disposal of the command indicate that the miscreants have concluded plans to disrupt the peace of the state and the Police among other strategies put in place to halt the plans of the miscreants from taking place  decided to call for a meeting with relevant stakeholders to chat a way forward.
CP Eboka advised members of the public to conduct themselves peaceful during the June 12 celebration and avoid any acts inimical to the peace of the state.
CP Eboka advised groups planning to hold rally or procession which the Police recognize is their fundamental human right,to apply to the Police so that the command can provide adequate security for them to ensure such rally or procession is not hijack by hoodlums.
The Rivers Police Boss also confined that the Civil Defence Personnel who allegedly shot dead a bus driver along Ada George road last Tuesday is being detained at State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) ,Port Harcourt and witnesses to the incident has also come forward to give their testimony. CP Eboka assured that due diligence will be followed in the matter and any one found culpable will be made to face the law.
On the speculation of trending video of a lady saying she escaped been slaughtered by ritual killers in Etche LGA, CP Eboka said days after the command issued statement requesting the lady in the various video to come forward to assist the Police with information, the lady is yet to come forward.
Our correspondent reports that participants urged the Police to ensure the rights of citizens who come out for rally or procession on June 12 Democracy day is not violated.
It would be recalled that some groups and individuals has indicated interest to protest against bad governance, insecurity among others on June 12,2021.
